Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review the results of recent studies evaluating the use of US Food and Drug Administration–approved agents in the treatment of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, including results related to drug resistance, predictors of response, and utility in special populations such as patients awaiting transplant
- Discuss the results of trials of drugs in development for the treatment of HBV infection
- Describe new data regarding predictors of hepatocellular carcinoma and risks of acquiring HBV through donor cells, tissues, and organs
